[FAQ] Wen.Suite 3

*Q: My old serial number no longer works with WS3

R1: If you have an old registration number for WS2, one made up as [0..9][A..Z][a..z], you must send us an email to receive your new registration number for WS3. With new numbers, the key is made of 16 hexadecimal numbers [0..9][A..F]. The key is case-insensitive.

R2: The serial number is made of 3 groups of characters. The first represents the actual serial number, which can be 3 or 4 digits. If yours is a 3 digit number, do not enter a fourth digit, or start with a zero. This is valid also for the third group which can be 1, 2 or 3 digits long. For example, you can enter a serial number such as "100-1234567890ABCDEF-9" like this "0100-123456789ABCDEF-009" without any problem.

R3: To make sure you have correctly entered the serial number, open the Files>About Wen.Suite menu and check that the licence number is correct.

*Q: On my computer (Magic PC, Magic Mac in particular) display of images in 65000 colours is correct, but is completely garbled in 256 colours.

R: In all cases when display is not on an original Atari (on a PC issued video card), you should go to the menu Options>Display>Graphics and select Graphic Card: ISA/PCI. After this, save the options (menu Options>Sauve INF ), quit WS and relaunch it (the graphic mode is only initialized on startup).

*Q: I cannot get a good display in 32000 colours.

R: The 16 bit graphic mode (65000 colours) is prefereable to the 15 bit (32000 colours) mode. Since all add-on video boards allow both of these modes, use the 65000 colour mode for a good display.
These are the graphic modes supported by WS:
-monochrome: YES
-4 colours: Supported as monochrome (real 4 colour mode is in the works)
-16 colours: OK (not tested on PC video boards)
-256 colours: OK (all boards: shifter ou packbits modes)
-32000 colours: NO, switch to 65000 colours
-65000 colours: YES (tall boards: Motorola or Intel RRRRRGGGGGGBBBBB modes)
-16M (24 bits): Runs on some graphic boards
-16M (32 bits): Runs on some graphic boards

*Q: After successfully installing WS on my hard drive, I have moved the directory and now it crashes.

R: The WENSUITE.INF and WENSUITE.CTX files contain WS installation information, if you move WS on your hard drive, you must delete these files so that WS can re-create a running setup.
